Beyondsun Successfully Passes IEC TS 63209-1:2021 Enhanced Performance Testing Certification for Photovoltaic Modules

Recently, Zhejiang Beyondsun Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Beyondsun”), a leading global photovoltaic manufacturer and provider of new energy solutions, announced that its core N-type TOPCon photovoltaic modules have successfully passed the IEC TS 63209-1:2021 international standard enhanced testing certification, issued by the internationally authoritative testing organization TÜV Rheinland. This certification signifies that Beyondsun’s photovoltaic modules have reached the international top level in terms of long-term reliability and extreme environment adaptability, laying a solid foundation for its deep cultivation of the global high-end market.

IEC TS 63209-1:2021 is an extended stress testing standard for photovoltaic modules developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). As an upgrade and supplement to the IEC 61215 baseline testing standard, this standard focuses on “simulating extreme operating conditions and evaluating long-term reliability,” comprehensively assessing module performance through five categories of enhanced test sequences. Compared to traditional standards, its testing intensity is increased exponentially: thermal cycling testing reaches 600 cycles (3 times the baseline standard), and the damp heat testing duration is extended to 2000 hours (2 times the baseline standard). It also covers stringent tests such as mechanical stress composite testing, back-side UV stress testing, and enhanced potential-induced degradation (PID) testing, comprehensively simulating the extreme environmental challenges that photovoltaic modules may encounter during their 25-year lifespan, including high temperature, high humidity, strong ultraviolet radiation, and mechanical loads.

The Beyondsun N-type module that passed certification this time is a star product developed based on the company’s core TOPCon technology platform. It integrates advanced technologies such as SMBB, side passivation, and micro-pitch encapsulation. The module’s highest efficiency exceeds 23.6%, and its bifaciality reaches over 80%. In the IEC TS 63209-1:2021 full-series testing, the module performed exceptionally well: after all test sequences were completed, the power degradation rate was stably controlled within 2%, far below the standard’s required 5% threshold; the PID degradation rate was even lower than 0.6%, fully verifying its structural stability and electrical performance reliability. It is understood that the test samples were randomly selected from the mass production line, and the certification results directly reflect the consistency of product quality in Beyondsun’s large-scale production.

Against the backdrop of the global photovoltaic market’s transformation towards “high quality and high reliability,” end customers are placing higher demands on the reliability and scenario adaptability of modules. By passing this stringent international certification, Beyondsun further enhances its competitiveness in the European and global high-end markets, providing more reliable energy solutions for diverse scenarios such as residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural photovoltaic integration.
